Our school does the cutest thing for birthdays. You donate a favorite book to the library! If you do that, you get called up at Friday Flag Salute in front of the whole school, and are honored for your birthday and your book.
It showed me that all our children really want is the love, attention and approval of their parents.
A few weeks later, Raegan forgot to give me her Wednesday envelope which contained a very important notice to me that Raegan would be recognized as "Trailblazer Of The Month". Because I was not aware of this award, I did not attend. She came home from school broken hearted. I wrote an unpleasant email to Raegan's teacher, astonished that she wouldn't have notified me of this major award. Luckily, before I pressed send, I decided to check Raegan's bag. Sure enough, sealed shut in her weekly folder, was the notice. I quickly deleted my email. Whew! That was close. Raegan and I both learned a lesson that day.
I'm so proud of you Raegan. You are a leader to your peers, helping in all that you do with a positive attitude. I'm so glad you love school and learning.
