CRUISIN'

Jason started working part time as Regional Manager
for our good friends, the Proudfits
and their Security System Company Titan
back in February.
Titan had put together a Reward Trip
Cruisin' to Mexico...
At the last minute, some employees backed out of the trip
and we were able to go!
Booh-Yeah

We departed from Long Beach on Carnival Cruise Line.
The first two days were at sea
bummin in the sun and pigging out on cuisine!

Our waiter was rad. He danced for us every night and typically had riddles or puzzles for us to solve. They leave their families and set sail for six months, sending them paychecks along the way. Their income is so small, it doesn't seem worth it.

And we thought we had it hard.

Every plate of food came out in some kind of artistic form.
Can you guess what this salad is?

Mmmmmm.
My favorite. Every night.
Lava cake with vanilla ice cream.
Sometimes I even had two.

Hold me.

No really.
Couldn't get enough.
By far my favorite delicacy
on the cruise.

It was so nice to spend some quality time alone together.
It had been a while!
We actually held hands and cuddled...

we'll stop there.

One of our favorite parts about the ship
ofcourse

was the soft serve ice cream!
Jason made it his goal to eat at least 15 a day.
But no one is a match for Mike and Mel.
In a week, the two of them most likely consumed
231 soft serve ice cream cones.

We figure Mike averaged around 25 a day

and Mel put down at least 8 a day.

It was so nice going back to our cabin every night
and having our beds turned down
with chocolates on our pillows.

The life.

Every night our towels were manipulated and shaped into different animals.
A swan, a monkey, an elephant, a cobra...
We couldn't help but think about how much the girls would have enjoyed that!

Their was so much to do on the ship.
Golfing, water slides, movies, buffets, hot tubbin, tanning, daiquiri's,
buffets, karaoke, clubbin, massages, buffets...
We spent a lot of time lounging in the sun, chatting, mocking
and laughing our heads off!

What sunburn?!
This will be perfect by tomorrow,
right Becky? ;)
On the ship they also had different contests.
This particular one
can you guess
is my favorite!
The hairy chest contest!
I'm thinking Jason had a chance...
just sayin.

Mike!
Winner of...
the Biggest Splash?
Bellyflop?
Volleyball?

Every night we dressed up for dinner.
Most of the time
we weren't even hungry.
Feeding your face all day will do that to you.
We rotated tables and had a chance to get to know just about
the whole Titan crew
and some...right Mel?

Afterwards, we would head over to the Karaoke lounge.
Mel and I had a blast making fun of
just about everyone.
That's what Karaoke is for, right?!
It was pretty funny...
Pee your pants funny.

Jason couldn't get enough of it.
Once we got him up there, we couldn't get him down!
He thinks he's Bon Jovi.

I did not venture on stage.
Just wasn't feeling it this trip, I guess.
But I sure had fun dancing and rockin out to everyone else!
Some were pretty bad...
I'm not gonna lie.

"Ralphieeeeeeeeeee!"

And the infamous Ross.
We cheered him on once and couldn't get rid of him after that.
He loved us. We kept coincidentally running into him on the ship.
I think he was secretly stalking us.
He was pretty adorable.
I wanted to take him home.

Woot! Woot!
At the club every night like we was sixteen!
Holla!
Jason doing Mikey's original
"Fish outta Water"
move.
A classic.

No more ice cream!!!

No more food!!!

Our first stop was Puerta Vallarta.
The first thing we saw coming off the boat
was bystanders taking pictures with this poor, drugged donkey.
PETA would have something to say about this!!!

Our biggest adventure on the trip was heading to the mountains for the day
to ride ATV's and zipline.
We all packed into a van
who needs seatbelts?
and headed off to the middle of the jungle.
It was a little sketchy...

Oh yah...
and lapping it?
Totally legal in Mexico...

The drive to our destination
was hot, long and rugged.
At one point we weren't quite sure
if this wasn't maybe the best idea...
a group of dumb Americans letting a strange Mexican
take us out into the middle of nowhere
in a foreign third world country...
yep
doesn't sound too smart.

Whew!
We were relieved to see Mormon Missionaries!
We stopped and talked to them for a few minutes.
For some reason it helped us feel a little more safe.

Finally
our destination!
Let the riding and zipping begin!

There were 13 ziplines!
Jason was such a good sport... having a slight fear of heights and all.
It was quite the hike in between zips
and we had to carry our 10 lb dollies!
What a workout!
Not so good for my fresh off of crutches knee...
Jason was over it by zip number 10 and headed back to the restaurant.
I on the other hand loved it so much
I zipped upside down with the instructor holding my ankles
on 3 of the ziplines.
Awesome.

We also went ATVing up the side of a mountain!
It was intense. We rode right next to cliffs, through streams,
over rocks and dirt.

We were a little mischevious.
I don't think our tour guide liked us much.
People kept getting stuck in rivers, there were slow drivers and fast drivers,
people taking wrong turns and getting lost...

And then, poor Mechelle, had a scary accident!
Her ATV flipped over in the river, trapping her beneath it and the water.
Luckily, one of the guys in the group was able to get it off her.
Our guide cut our adventure short after that and we headed back to camp.
Our studly boys.

The next day we stopped in Mazatlan.
We spent the day at a hotel right on the beach.
Ahhhh
Fresh water pool!

The last port was spent at our favorite Mexican getaway.
Cabo Baby!
Me and the boys went to Lovers Cove and did a little snorkeling.
The water was cloudy, cold and rough.
Wasn't the best snorkeling...
but we trailed behind the glass bottom boats that were feeding fish
and actually ended up seeing a ton!

After snorkeling,
Jas and I went off on our own and did a little shopping at the Mercado.
We made a little stop at the farmacia.
And lastly, we called home to the girls.
We kinda start missing them by day five...

We had such a fun and relaxing time on the cruise.
It has been such an intense two years for us,
a little vacation was so needed.
Thank you mom and dad for watching the kidlets back home!
