Raegan came to me one day with a brilliant idea to start a Book Club! Raegan said she would put the whole thing together herself. I thought to myself, "How can I fight this? It's encouraging them to read... it's free... it's building friendships AND it's teaching her leadership skills". She sat down and scrapbooked invitations. The date was solid and set. The big day arrived and only one friend showed up! :(
"Raegan, what happened?" I sadly asked.
"I forgot to give out the invitations..." She replied.
CRAP. Too good to be true. I knew she might need a little help.
The following month we made a few phone calls, baked a few cinnamon rolls and cut up some fresh fruit! We had an excellent turn out and the girls all had such a great time. I think Raegan's idea might actually fly!
The girls talked about some of their favorite characters and parts of their book. Then they swapped their books with eachother. They have a month to read the borrowed books before they return them to their rightful owner at the next book club. Afterwards they had a little time to play. It was really cute and they truly had a good time.

Oh my Gosh Jen that is so freaking hilarious. It is great that she has so much umph to do something like that.
But it is classic that she forgot to give out the invitations.
