The first week of summer was non-stop entertainment and fun!
We started the last day of school with celebrating at a bonfire
in Oceanside with a ton of friends!
Kylee was so happy to have a few of her friends there!
Jaida just adores Festus. She's always taken a "liking" to him... hmmm... I wonder why? Could it be the Cheetos and candy he stuffs in his pocket every time she's around?! During the "Smores" fest, Jaida tried to attack Festus with her sticky marshmallow.
I'm pretty sure there was some coaxing, thanks to Bobette.
Somehow, the plan seemed to backfire and a big, chunky, mushy marshmallow landed in Jaida's hair! It was impossible to get out... so we just slicked it back like gel into her ponytail.

Raegan was happy to have a few of her friends there as well!
Then, the following Monday (the first day of summer) we joined up with some friends at the beach for an evening of sand and surf.

Tuesday is normally our ward beach day, but it rained... so a few of us opted to go on Thursday! Our third time at the beach in a week!
It was a gorgeous day and we all had so much fun!
The kids had fun sitting at the edge of the water and letting the waves topple over them!
I guess this never gets old...
I do think I saw a little romance budding on the shoreline as well...

It's messy, but it's worth it!

I was seriously laughing HARD....Jaida is incredibly cute...what do you say? Jack's only 4 years older...ha ha ha! Jen, I love your family, so here's to MANY more beach days this summer (after we all get over being sick!)

I'm sad I missed all the festivities from the 1st week of summer. We better make up for it! Why does this summer seem to be getting busier and harder for us to get together?! I hate it!
