BACK TO THE HOSPITAL WE GO...

After being home for three days
we had to be readmitted to the hospital
due to Macy being jaundice.
Her biliruben levels were at 17.9. They put Macy and I on a strict, two hour feeding schedule. Luckily, they had an available bed/room for me in the hospital so that I could stay with baby and nurse her. I supplemented with my milk through a feeding tube attached to my pinkie as well.

Macy absolutely loved the incubator!
It was like she was lounging poolside with her shades on, all kicked back and sprawled out!

Luckily, Grandma Hawaii had scheduled a visit. Jason left me the first night back in the hospital to go pick up his mom. Unfortunately, he did not get much rest that night either. On their way home from the airport, the truck blew a tire and they spent the wee hours of the morning trying
to get home!
Grandma and Jaida came and visited us at the hospital. They only were able to hold her for a minutes because it was pertinent that Macy remained under the lights. It was nice to have
Grandma Hawaii helping out with the kids back home. It couldn't have worked out better!

Macy and I stayed at the hospital for two nights and three days.
We were anxious to get out and go home.
This hospital was not an enjoyable stay.
I literally was ailing. The staff pretty much ignored that I was even there! I would call for ice water and it would be like ten hours before they would bring it. The machine would start beeping and they wouldn't come in and turn it off for what seemed like forever. They even left my breakfast out in the hall one morning and when they finally noticed and brought it to me, it was cold and stale. Luckily, I had not given birth at this hospital!
Baby Macy's poor feet had been pricked so many times by this point
as they were constantly checking her levels. Luckily her levels had dropped to 13 so they gave us the green light and we were outta there!
I never knew jaundice could be so serious.

I am so glad that Macy is okay and you are outta there.
Sabrina was also 3 1/2 weeks early, I had to be induced because I was leaking, and she also spent extra days in the hospital "tanning." Not fun at all! It always killed me when they would poke her heal and squeeze it til they could get enough blood. Uggghh.
