I THINK I DONE SPRUNG A LEAK

It was a hot and busy day
the 26th day of August.
I had gotten the kids off to school, run errands, visited the orthodontist, took the kids to soccer and even had our big Camp Awards Night for Young Womens.
During the Awards Ceremony
literally as I am about to hand out my first award
I felt a little somethin-somethin and it did not feel right!
My mind is telling me no, but my body is telling me yes
I visited the restroom briefly... still puzzled... and went on with the night!
As the night went on, I began to realize what I was pretty sure was happening...
I think I done sprung a leak!
After everyone left, and all was cleaned up
I looked at Jason, the girls and the Keeler's (who were hosting the party) and said
"Now that camp is officially over... I say we go to the hospital and have a baby!"
Their faces were priceless.

Before we could even get to the hospital their was a lot to be done.
Jason had to take a shower. I had to update my status on facebook. The girls and I had to pack my hospital bag. I had to visit with my neighbors in the culdesac who had just read my facebook status. We had to pick up the video camera at my brother's house. We had to drop off Jaida with Grandpa. We had to get gas for the truck. Jason had to grab fast food on our way out!
Meanwhile...
My leaky faucet had blown the pipe
and I was soaking wet!
We finally arrived at triage in the hospital around 10:30 p.m. and were admitted to labor and delivery around midnight. My contractions had slowed down so around 3:00 a.m. they began the Potosin. All of a sudden, around 4:00 a.m. the contractions completely stopped!
We had the girls and grandma all situated with blankets on the floor and pull out chair.
My good friend, Chantel, had sewn the girls special hospital bags and filled them with crayons, coloring books, notebooks and stickers to keep them busy
while waiting the arrival of their baby sister.
Thank Goodness
At 8 a.m. Dr. French came in, checked me and I was still dilated to a 1.
She decided to do a procedure to hopefully speed up dilation and prevent a Cesarean delivery.
She inserted a balloon catheter into my cervix and within a few hours I began to dialate.
I requested the epidural at about a 6. As always, once I received the epidural, my body relaxes and it speeds up the whole process. My mom had left for the day so we contacted her as soon as I had the epidural. She barely made it back in time! I went from being dilated to a 6 all the way to a 10 in just an hour. We literally were delaying the pushing process so my mom could make it!
When Raegan and Kylee found out we were pregnant
they asked if they could watch the delivery.
After a lot of contemplation
Jason and I decided they were old enough
to make it a family affair.
We had a ton of conversations to prepare them for this special event. Their were no expectations and the girls knew they could be apart of the experience if they were comfortable.
It was awesome!
Raegan and Kye witnessed the whole birthing process!
With huge smiles on their faces they winked at me, gave me high fives and even held their breaths when I had to push.
They were definitely positive reinforcement!
The moment Macy came out was completely overwhelming and joyous.
Both girls began to cry what they called "happy tears".
She was perfect!
3 1/2 weeks early
and
20 1/2 hours later
August 27th, 2009 at 4:32 p.m.
Macy Jane Fifield
was born!

I could tell immediately baby girl was going to be little.
She weighed in at 5 lbs 13 oz and was 17 1/2 in long!
They layed her on me. I couldn't believe how much she looked like Jaida!
Raegan, Kylee, Grandma and Dad all got a turn holding her too.
Then they took her, cleaned her up and assessed her.
I've been so lucky to have my mom be apart of the births of all my children.

What an amazing and special experience this was for our family.
Words and pictures cannot give it justice.
We are so thankful and feel so blessed to have a
healthy, beautiful, baby girl!

So glad to finally see pictures of your precious new baby girl! Macy is a doll. She is so teeny tiny! Glad all is well and that she enjoyed her nice stay at the hospital with her shades by the pool. Too bad your experience there wasn't the same. hee hee.
